About me I am an assistant professor of English with a specialty in British literature of the long 18th century. I landed in the 18th century after a twisty journey through European modernism, early modern drama, and Asian American literature, and in my spare time I like to read contemporary and young adult fiction. I like narratives that test the limits of real, sentences that make language do things you didn't know it could do, and most anything with a wicked sense of humor.

About my library I accumulate titles faster than I can read them and I only enter them in this catalog when I'm procrastinating. It will be a while before my library is up to date. We may never get there. Also, my star ratings aren't necessarily evaluations of quality, but more of a haphazard way of tracking which books I've read or worked with recently.

It will be interesting to see which books we share once your collection is entered. Or, I should say, is closer to being entered--it's a goal we can only approximate, I fear. I thought I'd pretty much got there until I discovered an entire box of books during a search for old class notes last month...
I graduated Kenyon in June 2006; currently doing my M.A. at Case Western Reserve University.

And yeah, it did take 3 months to reply to your comment . . . working on my thesis has greatly reduced my LibraryThing visits.
Where do you teach?
Hi! Great collection! We have a bit in common - academic interests, readerly interests, professional interests, etc...small world!
