He is in first grade. His starting to read and I would love simple short books for him to read on his own. He enjoys reading very much.

renardkitsune: My first grader loves "Bad Kitty" series and though she takes a little while, but seems to really enjoy working her way through them.
Also the "Little Critter" books set up as leveled "first reading" books seem to go over well. (Sat, 01 Dec 2018 20:27:30 -0500)
WeeTurtle: My 6 year old Nephew is quite fond of "Pete the Cat," (Erik Litwin) and listens to the CD's with his read-along quite often.
Something I don't see a lot these days but I remember as a kid are Leo Lionni's books, with a sort of cut paper style similar to Eric Carle. We had "Swimmy" and "Frederick" and I later picked up "Alexander and the Wind-Up Mouse." (Tue, 04 Dec 2018 01:22:35 -0500)
