I read mostly fiction but I collect a lot of nonfiction. Recent fiction reading preferences include speculative fiction, Victorian novels, queer romance, and British mysteries. Nonfiction includes horticulture and sustainable gardening books, bread-baking and vegeterian cookery books, comparative religion, folklore, LGBTQ, and certain kinds of art, among other things.
Don't get this!
Please no best-sellers in either fiction or nonfiction. I probably have seen it already and have decided whether or not I am interested. Romance novels of any kind should have both compelling PLOT and CHARACTERS. Erotic scenes are ok (not required), but only if the book is interesting to read apart from that.
I am studying to be a librarian, so I also welcome things that aren't in my library and that you feel very strongly I should know about, even if they are in a category not mentioned above.
