Book tastes

I love mysteries - more specifically British mysteries, especially those in the style of Golden Age of Detection. I also enjoy Science Fiction and Fantasy - especially dystopian sci-fi and high fantasy.

Don't get this!

No romance, nonfiction, thrillers or horror.

Other notes

My wishlist is a good place to look for books that I might like.

Comments/suggestions

kjgormley: Hi! I got you the first in my favorite series of books by Megan Whalen Turner. It's a book you should plan on reading once, then immediately re-reading because the end twist is so good! The rest of the series actually improves upon the whole concept. I have personally bought and given away at least five copies of this book, so I was happy to see it on your wishlist.

Then I got you a new Tana French book, which is a self-contained mystery by Ireland's leading mystery writer. If you like this one, give her Dublin Murder's series a try. Most of my friends tore through them all in less than a month, possibly to the detriment of other responsibilities.

Happy reading and happy holidays!

libraryperilous: The Sisters of the Winter Wood, ASIN B078W66BXB, $4.99

A Big Ship at the Edge of the Universe, ASIN B0763KVBBH, $4.99 (Tue, 18 Dec 2018 19:12:19 -0500)

jburlinson: Santee already has In The Woods.

So here are three titles that together with "The Thief" add up to the budget.

Crimson Snow (British Library Crime Classics), by Martin Edwards. ASIN: B01N8XDI4S. 5.35

The Crime Club, by Frank Castle Fro√ęst. ASIN: B011MB6O5K. 3.99

The Mystery of the Mud Flats, by Maurice Drake and Nigel Moss. ASIN: B00ZK35QA6. 8.99 (Tue, 18 Dec 2018 19:29:10 -0500)

lorannen: Good eye, jburlinson! But, In the Woods is in their wishlist, so I left it in. Santa did have a little money left over, so I added Sisters of the Winter Wood (B078W66BXB).

Done.
