These are books for my sister Jeanette. These are her reading preferences. Jeanette likes books about artworks or art museums, modern American fiction (similar to Jodi Picoult), Holocaust fiction, books about Pope Francis, brain puzzles (like brain exercise puzzles), Gooseberry Patch cookbooks, thrillers (similar to Stephen King),health nonfiction, medieval women (fiction or nonfiction), some classics (listed in notes).
Don't get this!
No futuristic, science fiction or space related, fantasy, romance, chick lit, religion, no violence directed at women, children or animals, no graphic sex or profanity, no comedy, no foreign lit, no paranormal, no Dean Koontz, no zombie--werewolves--vampires.
Would like Beowulf, The Mayor of Casterbridge, East of Eden, The Godfather, The Canterbury Tales.
LadyoftheLodge's Secret Santa is BailsChris. Help BailsChris pick the right book.
RidgewayGirl: Seven Days in the Art World is a fascinating look at the art industry, from artists to collectors and gallery owners. (Fri, 29 Nov 2013 04:33:37 -0500)
Limelite: Combine her tastes. Try "Girl with a Pearl Earring" by Tracy Chevalier or one of several novels about Caravaggio, or Susan Vreeland's 'art novels': "The Girl in Hyacinth Blue," or "Luncheon of the Boating Party," or most recently, "Clara and Mr. Tiffany." Vreeland is an art teacher and novelist. (Fri, 29 Nov 2013 08:05:41 -0500)
