Book tastes
I have pretty broad tastes, as you can see from my LT account (things belonging to me are in the "my library" collection). My wishlist shows some books I'd like to own, mostly ones I've read already. My general interests are Egyptology, European & classical history, world religions, graphic novels (especially the more mature stuff Vertigo puts out), and fantasy/SF. These days I'm cultivating a taste for romances & urban fantasy, but feel free to lob a Great Work of Western/World Literature at me, too. I'm not bothered by graphic subject matter or language.
Don't get this!
Books meant to convert me to a particular ideology or religion. Also, I'm not sure I'm on board for the J. R. Ward Brotherhood series; what I've seen hasn't clicked for me.
Other notes
I'm looking forward to this year a lot! Last year I was introduced to two great series, so I'm very excited to see what you come up with.

franzeska: The Catalpa Bow is an interesting look at Japanese religions. Sergei Lukyanenko is nice if you want urban fantasy but you're bored of the standard stuff. Lauren Willig is great for romance-y stuff with enough ridiculous adventure and "historical" details to dilute the mush. For something a little more intellectual, I suggest Michael Gregorio. jjmcgaffey: F/SF Egyptology and FUN - Dave Freer's Pyramid Scheme (sequel is Norse gods).
Absolutely wonderful - not exactly graphic novel, it's actually collections of comic strips. But great adventure stories and fascinating characters. This one is sort of in the middle (the series is still coming out), but it contains three good stories and quite a lot of information on Modesty and Willie. Peter O'Donnell's Top Traitor
