Favorite fiction authors are Mary Robinette Kowal, Seanan McGuire/Mira Grant, Ann Leckie, John Scalzi, Patrick Rothfuss, and Jim Hines. If you can help me find another author in the same vein or along a similar axis, I’d be very grateful. My preferences run more to science fiction than to fantasy, but I’m open to any of the genres or sub-genres. Nonfiction likes can be guessed fairly easily. For example, I’ve enjoyed _Rise of the Rocket Girls_ and _Hidden Figures_ (for values of “enjoyed” that include “very angry I never learned about this as a kid”).
Don't get this!
I prefer fiction over nonfiction for pleasure reading.
Not everything I own I has been catalogued. Sorry.
archaism's Secret Santa is Claire57. Help Claire57 pick the right book.
Tropical-Library: All Sytems Red by Martha Wells, The Family Trade by Charles Stross, maybe Binti by Nnedi Okorafor or A Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet by Becky Chambers (Tue, 04 Dec 2018 19:05:59 -0500)
SouthernKiwi: Maybe Peter V Brett's The Painted Man or Joe Abercrombie's The Blade Itself for fantasy, or in the sci-fi vein Lauren Beukes' Moxyland. For non fiction I'd recommend The Radium Girls by Kate Moore and Bad Ideas? An Arresting History of our Inventions by Robert Winston. (Wed, 05 Dec 2018 04:32:31 -0500)
