meacoleman's Secret Santa is sallylou61. Help sallylou61 pick the right book.

Capybara_99: "The Only Rule Is It Has To Work" by Ben Lindberg and Sam Miller. A very enjoyable baseball memoir about analytic types trying to run a minor league team. (Tue, 27 Nov 2018 20:01:25 -0500)

sallylou61: Merry Christmas, Mary Ellen. I hope that you enjoy these books.

I notice that you have a couple of books about different world series in your collection. You would probably enjoy The Betrayal: the 1919 World Series and the Birth of Modern Baseball by Charles Fountain. It is supposed to be the most accurate book on that series. (I'm taking an adult education short course on the Black Sox scandal this semester.)

A couple of other baseball books I considered were Wait Till Next Year by Doris Kearns Goodwin and Baseball as the Road to God by John Sexton. All three of these books were too expensive.
