I like graphic novels, science fiction, YA, LGBTQ+ fiction, history, microhistory, Holocaust books, books by Jewish/Israeli writers, poetry, and plays.
Don't get this!
Shakespeare. I have several volumes already.
alo1224's Secret Santa is libraryperilous. Help libraryperilous pick the right book.
Morteana: Anything by Amy Rose Capetta - she already has Echo After Echo on Calibre, but she's a strong LGBTQ+ voice in YA fiction. Adam Silvera and Becky Albertalli as well. (Sat, 01 Dec 2018 11:31:10 -0500)
mmseiple: I would recommend Generations by Flavia Biondi. It's an Italian graphic novel in translation with LGBTQ+ themes. (Sat, 01 Dec 2018 18:11:36 -0500)
pantsu: For an excellent (positive) LGBTQ themed graphic novel, I cannot rec Ngozi Ukazu's "Check Please: Hockey" enough!!! (you don't need to know anything about hockey to read it....it's about a figure skater who moves north from GA to attend college and play hockey. He also bakes pies. The art is wonderful and the story very sweet. This volume has the first 2 years of Bitty's story. (Thu, 06 Dec 2018 17:11:51 -0500)
rodneyvc: The Lost Thing by Shaun Tan (Thu, 06 Dec 2018 19:23:34 -0500)
Tropical-Library: Central Station or anything else by Lavie Tidhar -- great Israeli writer (Thu, 06 Dec 2018 19:26:04 -0500)
Cfraser: I enjoyed a boy in winter by Rachel Seiffert - holocaust book. I am not sure about the Santa's library as contains nearly 20000 books, 10 000 of those were in Calibre, including this one, unsure what that means though (it wasn't in "your library") (Thu, 06 Dec 2018 19:44:04 -0500)
SqueakyChu: A Blessing on the Moon by Joseph Skibell is an interesting read. I'd include it with Holocaust literature although it is a novel and contains magical realism. (Thu, 06 Dec 2018 20:19:40 -0500)
wisemetis: Bingo Love is a sweet love story about two grandmothers who find each other at bingo after being forced apart as teenagers. (Thu, 06 Dec 2018 20:22:00 -0500)
thebookmagpie: Any Kirsty Logan but especially Gracekeepers (Thu, 06 Dec 2018 20:25:12 -0500)
