I am a YA Librarian and I am excited to join this group. I read a Great and Terrible Beauty awhile back.. I have to be honest , I am not a lover of fantasy fiction, but I read this book and actually liked it. There was enough reality thrown in, to make me want to keep reading. I have not read Rebel Angels yet. I think what I liked most in this book were the different types of personalities found in the girls at the school. I also enjoyed their travels into the spiritual world. Picultlover 14collsersWelcome to the group, picultlover! You'll find the discussion page for A Great and Terrible Beauty at this link. This page is more for just the scheduling of the discussion. 16SheReadsSeptember Discussion: The Hollow Kingdom by Clare B. So far we have read: Uglies by Scott Westerfeld, Maximum Ride: The Angel Experiment by James Patterson and we are now reading Pendragon: The Merchant of Death by DH MacHale. We are looking for a great book for our next discussion. Our students love the Twilight series but just about everyone has already read the three books. Any good suggestions outside of the fantasty genre so we can attract more readers, especially boys! 24aperrigoBut where's the discussion for Snow Flower??? I finally finished it and want to hear opinions! :-) 26SheReadsReminder: This thread is for the schedule of our Monthly Discussions, please start another thread for other questions or comments As for the discussion of Snow Flower and Secret Fan you can find that here. In the upcoming months we will be reading... April: 13 Little Blue Envelopes May: My Sister's Keeper 30foggidawnI don't think we did, Zoe. Should we make that June's discussion, and start a thread for it? I read it a few months ago, so would be glad to participate in a discussion. 31_Zoe_Sounds good. I created a thread here. Of course, I'm so far behind that I still haven't read the book, but that will come soon.... 32foggidawnGetting back on track . . . August discussion: Life As We Knew It by Susan Beth Pfeffer Discussion will begin on August 1, 2008 36_Zoe_The discussion for January and February was an author read of Robin McKinley's work. We didn't decide in advance how long it would go on, but since there hasn't been a post for a couple of weeks now, it's probably time to move on. I'll make a new thread for suggestions for April. edit: April suggestion thread here 39Aetra.LurinaYes, I would like a suggestion for a good book. The ones I've been picking up lately have a been rather dull... 41foggidawnNot at the moment -- I'm afraid we've gotten out of the habit of doing monthly reads, unfortunately. 42Annette.PietersI want to know what the name of the book was that was up for discussion in Dec 2012. Where do I find a list of the books up for group discussion? Kind regards Annette Pieters | AboutThis topic is not marked as primarily about any work, author or other topic. TouchstonesWorks
