I'm usually not a fan of ghost stories. However, in my mind I classified this as a historical fiction book because of Scott Joplin. I teach the roaring 20's and thought this might offer some cultural background. What I found was a truly educational novel with a twist! I knew nothing about Joplin so as the story went along I was checking out the accuracy of some of the information on Joplin and found most of it could be substantiated. This is a great story, almost in the vein of a Steven King.
