Has anyone seen this series? I searched LT and did not find it.

The World's Great Explorers and Explorations?

I have the following book Life of Sir John Franklin and the North-west Passage by Albert Hastings Markham that I downloaded from archives.org (http://www.archive.org/details/lifeofsirjohnfra00markuoft) and the cover says "The Great Explorers (http://www.archive.org/stream/lifeofsirjohnfra00markuoft#page/n0/mode/2up to view the cover, look real close)

Publisher data says
London : G. Philip & Son

And the book was originally published in 1891 by all that I can tell (both archive.org and loc.gov list this book as published in that year) Click for loc.gov information (http://lccn.loc.gov/26004746)
On the 3rd page it says "The World's Great Explorers and Explorations. Edited by J. Scott Keltie, Librarian, Royal Geographical Society; H J. Mackinder, M.A., Reader in Geography at the University of Oxford' and E. G. Ravenstein, F.R.G.S."

On the next page (http://www.archive.org/stream/lifeofsirjohnfra00markuoft#page/n5/mode/2up) it lists 6 books and says (abridged, follow link to see the everything) "The World's Great Explorers and Explorations. The following Volumes are already published, and may now be obtained in three different bindings .
1. John Davis, Arctic Explorer and Early India by Clements R. Markham
2. Palestine by Major C. R. Conder
3. Mungo Park and the Niger by Joseph Thomson
4. Magellan and the First Circumnavigation of the Globe by F. H. H. Guillemard
5. John Franklin and the North-West Passage by Captain Albert Markham
6. Livingstone and the Exploration of Central Africa by H. H. Johnston

I found #4 Magellan and the First Circumnavigation of the Globe (http://www.archive.org/stream/lifeferdinandma00guilgoog#page/n6/mode/2up) and #6 Livingstone and the Exploration of Central Africa (http://www.archive.org/stream/livingstoneexpl00john#page/n0/mode/2up) and they have the same beginning pages as the other one. (though #4 only lists the first 4 books, wit the other 2 as coming later) Also the same publisher, as if the cover didn't give that away. I could not find the other 3 books on archive.org to compare them all.

But my conclusion is that this is a legit series. And barring any evidence presented to the contrary I am going to treat it as such.

Please correct me if I am wrong.
