What a bizarre day! I tried to buy books for two different people. First at half.com then amazon and there was no discernible way to do that! Absurd, I spent over an hour in total on 3 different occasions on a task I thought would take 5 minutes at most.

I have accounts at both sites having bought there before and my browser is firefox but the checkout pages never gave a place to leave a note to the person I wanted to give the books to so they would know I sent the damn gift.

I even called phone help at amazon which was instantly answered but the people I spoke with were not able to help me and the second person was as confused as I. He said there is a "do you want to send this as a gift tab" I replied, "I know there usually is and I just spent 15 minutes looking for it!"

And this the holiday season, if I owned stock in either company I would have scorched some phone lines. Even if Drunk and senile it seems there would be a way to accomplish that task. The amazon people could not even read my order after I had been through the checkout {which I later canceled} mispronouncing names and stumbling through the online receipt. Makes me think my cable phone is routed to illiterate vice cops looking for a lotto winner to rip off. There! vented all that out.
