I´m on my way out with our dog. The sun is shining and the snow sparkling. Hope you all have a nice Sunday with lots of reading!
I confess, I went to the thrift (again), total books: 4 oldies one newer. I will not read until others are read...that is the thing I needed to recognize...find a great find Alexander Woollcott 1936 sixteenth printing, hardcover, great shape with a tinge of old paper smell, and a hint of yellowing...yummy!
Tues. PST a.m. Let me think back, I awoke to a sciatica attack, thought I'd stay off my feet, eat, sent Buddy the poodle home around 7 a.m. He is wired for the night or does not get enough exercise during the day to help him want to sleep at night...got to love him though, he is the baby.
I also have a confession - I have a lot more oldies than 37 and I´m not going to stop buying new ones. And I´m also reading new ones in between. You don´t have to read all of the 37 at once - but, of course, the challenge is to read 37 in 11...
I think I would just die if I couldn't buy new books, or new to me old books. I got my SantaTHing book today! I have to read it in between old ones. I thought that I could put all the books I buy on a seperate shelf and then in 2012 we could have a "112 oldies in 2012 challenge"! At the rate I buy books I should have no trouble!
P.S Hey, Amasa, your dog is cute laying on the books!
Good idea ;)
Oh, that´s not my dog. I´ll post a picture of him. He´s a brown and white Lagotto Romagnolo.
small talk hey...what about this: I am using an unsecured wireless signal with one bar of strength 5.5 mbps, very low....that's small right? What day/time is it in your part of the world? PST: 10:52 a.m. saturday here.
I had one small bar on my laptop battery when I was reading your post the alarm sounded....funny...I am in Florida...1:07 PM Central time....
#7 the dog laying on books, the poodle is Buddy, and I am the proud nanny, he belongs to a neighbor, was traumatized in early months of life and dreads being alone, anxiety he has.
How are you all?
I am back and have been making killer finds...29Cents, 49cents and $1.00, and $.05 books. Many first editions. I can't stop until the closets are filled! Some I will sell, especially if I find a copy for myself. One time I found a first edition and a book club edition of the same book at the same time,, how thrilling.
It has been raining in California Central Valley.
Buddy the poodles mom had ortho surg on arm, so Bud stayed over two nights, trained well. Yes, I cleaned his face and paws and let him eat from his bowl, at the table with placemat and he was neater than some humans (lol) Got new pics but unable to upload on friend's PC (older, no SD slot)...I guess I could remember to pack my USB hook up.
I have been so busy writing and not reading! Now my grands are here and it is Spring break! I am so far behind reading! Goodness.... Here is a pic of the grandkids!
Small Talk thread, change of subject...
You know that pretty poodle I use on my profile and in my gallery? Well, one day I had a pms breakdown and had an opportunity to go to thrift store for books. I was suppose to babysit and was presumed to be on call all day. I waited and waited and snapped, and did not. The poodle has obviously forgiven me...not the mom. Now finish the scenario.......I anticipated the unforgiveness and coolness...I have plenty of memories and pictures in my phone and laptop. Occasionally I get a glimpse of the divine little creature.
