Everybody's talking about the Bloody Jack books. Do you guys mean the ones by Louis A. Meyer? (*blushes*) Sorry if that's a stupid question, lol. But here comes another one: Which one's which? (Meaning what order do you read 'em in?)

Well i don't think it realy matters what order you read them in but if your being all proper it goes:

Bloody Jack
Curse of the Blue Tatoo
Under the Jolly Roger
In the Belly of a Bloodhound

Yes, we mean the ones by Louis A. Meyer, and it's not a stupid question at all. Especially given the stubbornness of the touchstones.

I wanted to add that there's a fifth one due out sometime late this summer called Mississippi Jack, which I'm totally thrilled about.

And I'm really glad you decided to join us!

The order is not SUPER-critical, but there are stuff in later books that might not make a lot of sense if read out of order.

I'm psyched about the fifth book too, except when I read the series I thought the fourth one was it, the end, and then it turns out it wasn't and ended with a cliffhanger, and then I learned I had to wait for the next one? Ooooh, I was pissed.

Caramellunacy has quite recently gotten me hooked on the Bloody Jack books, although I'm only in the middle of Curse of the Blue Tattoo so far.

Question, relating to quite why I haven't read "Bloodhound" yet... does anybody know when it comes out in paperback? Something's being uncooperative on Amazon and it will insist that there is only one edition of the book, which is the hardcover and the audiobook at the same time. I can't find any admission that the paperback exists or will ever exist, let alone a release date, but Amazon should definitely have a page for it by now.

I am OCD about my books and have the first three in paperback so I can't buy the fourth in hardcover, it would not be quite the thing. Also, I can't afford hardcovers.

I know this reply to your question, may be coming late, but I'm getting caught up on the posts here. I believe the paperback edition comes on in May 08. Did you know you can order autographed copies off of L.A. Meyer's website? www.jackyfaber.com

...That seems like an oddly long time to put off issuing a paperback version. Hrm.

Thanks, though. I thought I just couldn't find it. >.>

OH! That's Great News! My boyfriend and I are both hooked on the adventures of our darling Jacky. I wonder what she'll be up to this time.

I always see these books at B&N but I never get them because I am worried they will just be meh. Are they really good? I would be interested if I knew a bit about them. What can you all tell me that won't spoil the story too much?

I bought the first one and was hooked. They're pretty much young adult books. The main character is a girl who's family dies and she pretty much ends up homeless and joins a gang to survive. She pretends to be a boy to get a position on a ship, and it goes on from there. There's romance, violence, excitement, humor... I recommend them :)
