I only just found this group. I hope that there are still some of you hanging about!

I'm here. I'm even probably famous (notorious?) for bragging on LT about my home sweet home.

Where are you, zette? I'm in Dunning - 40 miles west and north of Broken Bow on Highway 2. I spend a lot of time in the Omaha area, as my daughter and family are in Council Bluffs; and in Grand Island and that area, as my mother is in Aurora. Also spend time in Kearney and Lexington with various family members.

Can you tell I'm retired??

Hello, I just found LibraryThing, and this group. I am weirdly thrilled at cataloging my books in the Dewey Decimal System. I live in Grand Island, have for a really long time.

I love the cataloging. Weird, I know. I'm a retired school librarian (media specialist), and I've loved the Dewey Decimal System for decades!!

I was just invited to join this group; didn't know it existed. Wisconsin has been my home for over 30 years, but I left my heart in Nebraska. I'm always interested in hearing news of home. My home area was in the northeast corner of Nebraska, close to the South Dakota and Iowa borders.

My late husband was from South Sioux City. I may be one of the few people on the planet that knows the words to the actual SSC Cardinal's Fight Song!

We have family in Norfolk, Wayne, Pierce, and all through that area. A lovely part of the state.

Oh, my goodness, my old stomping grounds. My dad would take our old Buick to Norfolk to be fixed. Mom would fry up some chicken and fix potato salad, and we would spend our time at the park that had the biggest peonies (and so many) while waiting on the car to be fixed. That was a big event when I was a kid. Pierce was where our doctor was that always gave me a shot in the butt when I had a cold (that's when they still gave penicillin shots for colds---three days in a row!). I always felt like a pin cushion.

Wayne was where my older sister went to college. After high school and my first time away from home, I moved to the big city, Sioux City. Ah, Sioux City! The old song says they left their heart in San Francisco; well, I left my in Sioux City. Sioux City Sue!!!

I have strange memories. Ha! On the rare (I mean, mighty rare) trip to Sioux City as a child, we would go to the cemetery to eat our packed lunch. My family always went to cemeteries to clean up around the graves. I think I'm the only person around who feels at home at a cemetery.

Oh, and don't forget Osmond, Randolph, and Laurel. Great hearing from you, Mary!

Hi, goddess! How are things on your side of the river?

ETA: Love the wedding pictures, and the cat pictures too! Congratulations.

Thank you! :) And pretty good...now that the wedding is over, things have settled down a bit.
