Alright, we've had some lingering problems with peoples' ER reviews not getting marked as such (and/or the reviews not being indicated on the "Books You've Won" page). Tim and I ran some tweaks tonight that should have rectified these issues. Can those to whom this was happening do a quick check and let me know if it's fixed for them, or if there's another monster here for us to find?

Jan 24, 2011, 11:15pm Top

Yep, that fixed it for me.

Jan 24, 2011, 11:36pm Top

Yes, my reviews are all marked now, but I had a couple that it said to "Add to your Library", which I did, and that worked on all but one.

Jan 26, 2011, 7:58pm Top

Looks like it worked for mine as well. Still has the 'Add to your library' button but also says I reviewed it.

Jan 26, 2011, 8:33pm Top

Yes ... the one that wasn't showing up is now OK.

Jan 26, 2011, 9:00pm Top

4. I have one like that too... There seems to be a glitch on some ER books where the add to library button remains, even after the book is added to your library and reviewed.

Jan 30, 2011, 7:12am Top

I've reviewed the book, attached to what seems to be the correct book, but I'm still getting that I haven't reviewed it yet.

Jan 30, 2011, 7:43am Top

ljbwell - what book is it?

Can somebody who's seeing the extra plus sign please do a bug report for it, with a screenshot and an exemplar book it's happening for?

Jan 30, 2011, 8:09am Top

Sorry - The Red Coffin.

Jan 30, 2011, 8:21am Top

Hmm. Okay. You just posted that review, right? We'll probably have to run the script that reconciles reviews to works on a semi-regular basis, so that the badge catches up.

Jan 30, 2011, 8:33am Top

Looks great - thanks!

Jan 30, 2011, 8:34am Top

Yes, posted today. If the lag is expected, that's fine. There wasn't a mention of it in the FAQ 'The Early Reviewers page says I haven't reviewed one of the books I received, but I have,' and I saw this thread, so wanted to be sure. My 1st one, so probably a touch overly concerned I get it right.

Jan 30, 2011, 8:07pm Top

My ER reviews are all good.

Also (although OT) ... I noticed that my MG wins are showing up correctly now. Originally my MG wins were not showing, but now there are checks next to the ones I snagged! (a couple of my MG wins never showed up in my mailbox, but that's a whole different ball o' wax)

Anyway, thanks Jeremy!!

Re. #8: "Can somebody who's seeing the extra plus sign please do a bug report for it, with a screenshot and an exemplar book it's happening for?"

I'm not sure how to do a "bug report", but here's a screenshot (or, a combination of two screenshots):

Jan 31, 2011, 12:36am Top

15.> No need to worry. I did the bug report earlier (see message 11 in this thread). In future, if you need to do a bug report, it's as simple as posting the relevant information and screen shot(s) in the Bug Collectors group.

Jan 31, 2011, 10:22am Top

The "Add to your library" link is also still showing up for Powers. I remember reading in another thread that I wasn't the only one.

Edited: Jan 31, 2011, 10:26am Top

I also have the "Add to your library" plus-sign for a work already in my library (and reviewed): Nature Stories, Jules Renard. The work is correctly marked as reviewed.

The other title with a plus-sign has not been reviewed, so that is correct. The remaining 3 titles in my list of ER winnings are correctly identified as both reviewed and in my library.

Jan 31, 2011, 9:33pm Top

I also have a "Add to your library" plus-sign for a work already in my library (Elf Love) - haven't reviewed it yet but I do not see it next to the one I just received and added so I suspect that there is an issue

Feb 1, 2011, 2:22am Top

I have an "Add to your library" sign for On Tremendous Trifles the ER that I won in April 2010. Strange to see "Add to your library" and "You reviewed this book..." for the same title.

Edited: Feb 1, 2011, 3:07am Top

18.> The other title with a plus-sign has not been reviewed, so that is correct.

Actually, the add to library plus sign is supposed to go away when you add the book to your library... the review has nothing to do with the plus sign. My two most recent ER wins have been added to my library, though I have not yet received either book. Neither of those two books has the add to library sign next to the listing, and that's the way it should be.

#10 My review of The Red Coffin by Sam Eastland isn't marked as an ER review on the reviews page and the fact that I've reviewed the book is also not showing up on the books won page.

I only posted it today - just wanted to check that the reconciliation Jeremy was talking about will get run again at some point?

Mar 15, 2011, 1:57pm Top

Yes, it will (it takes a long time and eats up a lot of power so we don't do it often, but it will run again).

Mar 15, 2011, 2:39pm Top

#24 Brilliant, thanks.

>8 jbd1:

I just noticed that the extra plus signs aren't showing up any more. Yay!

Nov 28, 2011, 12:45pm Top

My review for King Hugo's Huge Ego isn't marked as a ER review on the review page.

Jan 21, 2012, 2:29pm Top

My review for The Lost Lions isn't marked as an ER review on the review page. Additionally, the 'Early Reviewers: Books you've won' page is still saying that I need to review it.

Feb 1, 2012, 4:08am Top

Reviewed Luminous Airplanes but there's no LTER logo on the review, nor is the book marked as reviewed on my "books won" page.

Feb 1, 2012, 5:50am Top

I found a combination that needed doing. Did that help?

Feb 1, 2012, 5:54am Top

Heh - was just about to do that and ran into the stupid site-search bug, which I hope a programmer will wake up soon and fix. The combination will fix this, but I'll need to run the "reconcile reviews" script first, so it won't show correctly immediately.

Edited: Feb 1, 2012, 11:51am Top

Yes, I ran into it too, but luckily the combination was suggested on the editions page. Still, I suspect that there is also an author combination that would be useful but no way to do it right now.

Feb 1, 2012, 11:53am Top

Search should be fixed, so you can go ahead and do it if you want - I haven't had a chance yet.

Edited: Feb 1, 2012, 4:06pm Top

Didn't find THAT problem. Played with another one until it got too complicated for me.

Feb 1, 2012, 12:26pm Top

Feb 2, 2012, 5:32am Top

I noticed that others with reviews of Luminous Airplanes now have their logos (They didn't yesterday.), but mine is still not fixed...

Feb 2, 2012, 6:24am Top

The reconcile reviews script hasn't been run yet, so because your copy was only just combined in with the work, it won't display for now. Once we run that script, you'll be all set. For now, you don't need to worry about it :-)

Feb 2, 2012, 3:45pm Top

ok - thanks!

Feb 4, 2012, 6:30pm Top

I got tired of my won books page telling me to go write a review, so I deleted the book and then added it again. All is fixed :)

May 23, 2012, 10:17pm Top

My review for The Court Blamed Me by Murph Donnan does not show up on my Early Reviewers list. Does anyone have a suggestion?

May 24, 2012, 4:31am Top

I tried my method above (#39) for my April win, The Red House, but it didn't work, so I'm waiting for Jeremy's adjustments.

Jun 1, 2012, 1:55pm Top

Recent issues of this type should all be caught up now. Sorry, this is a process that takes a LONG time and I didn't want to run it during the covers madness.

Jun 1, 2012, 5:04pm Top

All's fixed - thank you!!

Aug 16, 2012, 7:54pm Top

I am having a slight problem with Logavina Street, from the May batch. The link from my ER sidebar goes to an earlier version of the book, titled Besieged. I added and reviewed the book under the Logavina Street title but it is not giving me credit for it.

Aug 16, 2012, 8:43pm Top

There's a disambiguation notice that says the two are different works and should not be combined. It looks like the ER notice may have been attached to the wrong work in the case. That's something the staff will need to fix.

Aug 19, 2012, 6:49pm Top

This just happened to me with my latest ER book, Ho! For the Black Hills: Captain Jack Crawford Reports the Black Hills Gold Rush. I think it might be because it is softcover and I added a work that says hardcover but when I use the add books tool I only see a single search result. Any advice?

Aug 19, 2012, 7:13pm Top

>46 anna_in_pdx: I think it was a combining issue. Some copies were entered with Jack Crawford as the author and other copies were entered with Paul L. Hedren as the author. I combined them and I think that will fix the problem.

Aug 20, 2012, 11:38am Top

Thanks! I am kind of an idiot at the combining thing.
