Taking into account the fact I was leaving for a two-week trip - soon extended to three - the next day, my earlier comment seems improvident. I did take de Jasay along. I did ignore him. I do apologize.

The State was less in my thoughts than The City of the Century.... however, being home again, I'm happy to turn my mind back to less corporeal entities. Are any of you up for reviving this discussion? If so, where? Beginning with Ben's comments on chapter one, or going on to two?
