I came across this member who leaves spammy comments on other member's profiles. I have flagged him/her as a spammer, but don't know what else to do to with it.

Do we need a way to flag comment spam?

Might be worth mentioning him/her/they in the 'spam reporting thread'.

He appears to have been dealt with.

I've been going through the "members flagged as spam" thing when I start my day, so I probably just zapped 'im. I check in on that page on average twice a day and clear it out, so for commercial spammers, just flag their profiles and I'll get them :-)

awesome, thank you. Is it ok to leave a comment linking them to the spam post/comment like I did with that individual?

Sure, definitely helps in cases where it's not immediately obvious from the profile itself!

It's annoying when they're smart enough to turn the comment field off.....

Yes. It is :-)

I think there should be a rule that if you turn off comments, you lose the ability to comment on other folks' profiles.

*shrug* While I can understand what you;re saying, the same thing happens in the blog and forum communities. Support tickets too. You have no idea how many I receive with no method of returning a message to them. Then they get pissed publicly when they don't hear back from you....
