1hjorndorffIs Hunger Games absolutely the best book ever? I want reviews! I want to know if its worthy to read! THANKS!!!!! 2krazy4katzCheck The Hunger Games for 1143 reviews. Hopefully that will be enough to help you decide. ;-) 5KiraIt's similar to Battle Royale but different enough that they are both worth a read I think. Hunger Games is less bloody, and more character-driven with a more elaborate back-story to the political scenario than Battle Royale, which is more driven by the immediate plot-line. Also it may have been the translation I read, but Battle Royale seemed poorly written in comparison. However, if you've read Battle Royale first you will likely feel the Hunger Games is a ripoff of it to some extent. Apparently the author had never heard of Battle Royale before she wrote it thought, and then consciously didn't read or see it while she was still writing the series so it didn't influence her at all. 7MmeRoseThanks, Kira. According to my daughter, who studies Japanese and spent 4 months there last fall, it is a very poor translation. 8hjorndorffOk. Thanks again for all the feedback! :) I'm reading Twilight right now but I want to try it soon! 10hjorndorffIt is a SAGA! And yes!!!! I absolutely LOOVVVEEDD, the first book! But the movie stunk :/... 11Mr.DurickOn the Barnes and Noble posting on Facebook about the omission this year of a Pulitzer Prize for literature several of the not entirely sentient said that The Hunger Games should have won it. Robert 13Godlikethe hunger games are barely any better written than that twilight rubbish awful, i hope i can write better than them, i think they've lowered the bar considerably makes it easier for me 19krazy4katzThat happens here sometimes. It is a reasonable alternative to letting people know how you feel in a rational, well-written statement. | AboutThis topic is not marked as primarily about any work, author or other topic.
