I love seeing updates and it's been quiet so I thought I'd share a negative update.
Sent a note to the Ngaio Marsh house in New Zealand. They seem to have a goodly bulk of her personal library. Although the response was very polite, the board of trustees has "declined to participate". Too bad. She would have been a nice addition.
I didn't see this mssg. before writing about that library since it wasn't listed - and wondering if a LibraryThing member lived in that area.
Too bad the trustees declined. Maybe if there were someone on the ground there, they could be more persuasive??
Anyway, here is where I came across the library:
It wouldn't hurt! Maybe even give it a little more time so it'll be a full year since my original request, and maybe a couple board members would have cycled off and new ones elected on. Maybe. Perhaps a letter from a similar organization who has participated supporting LLs would be nice to have on hand to send to groups like this.
