Physical Description Fields & LLsJoin LibraryThing to post. This topic is currently marked as "dormant"—the last message is more than 90 days old. You can revive it by posting a reply. 1 jbd1Apr 21, 2011, 4:05pm
With the addition of physical description fields (see the blog) comes a whole new series of wrinkles for the LLs :-) Basically the trouble comes when a record has been added and edited, of course, since it will display the physical description data that came with the original record, unless edited. To get around this I have hidden the phys desc fields from the LLs that are completed; if folks want to go in and add this information where possible, be my guest. For those in progress, I leave it up to the organizers whether to hide the fields or not. I'll be going through the LEA ones and updating the fields as necessary (mainly so as to get better volume counts), but that will likely be a long process. Also, on the volume front: for pamphlet volumes, there should be a volume value entered for only one item within the pamphlet volume (or else the overall count will be off). I tried to get a fraction-aware volume field, but was unsuccessful :-) Any questions, &c., let me know! 2LarxolApr 21, 2011, 4:50pm
Shouldn't be a problem for Doctor Johnson, Charles Lamb, James Boswell -- we've almost always added in the correct edition or entered it manually. 3 jbd1Apr 21, 2011, 4:55pm
Cool - feel free, if you like, to show the fields for SJ and CL (maybe spot check a few to make sure they're hunky-dory) :-) | 475 members 4,251 messages AboutThis topic is not marked as primarily about any work, author or other topic. Touchstones
