If anyone wants to have a go, here's a bunch of crappy relationships-field data (of the "married with two children" and "fluffy (pet hampster)" varieties) that needs cleaning up. The ones that aren't entered properly but that contain full names could be checked, just to see if the person is an author-like entity on LT. There are a few legit entries there, but they're all typically the ones with live links that work, and actually go to another author page.

I wonder if the system could be tweaked to only allow population of the relationship field with names of authors with a current author page?

It might also help if, in addition to the current line ("Huxley, Julian (brother), Orwell, George (student), Huxley, Leonard (father)"), one was added that explicitly stated "This is meant for relationships with other authors also represented on LibraryThing".

I'm tempted to say, "and we should also ban authors from entering their own information", because that's where a lot of this crap seems to come. It's astonishing how many authors don't understand "Awards given for a specific work should only be entered on the work page, not the author page."
