Welcome to the Wizard Challenge, the Hogwarts Express Harry Potter Trivia Thread!

Here's how it works: I'll start us off with a Harry Potter trivia question. Someone will answer it. I'll confirm if they got it correct (or tell everyone to keep guessing if not) and the person with the correct answer will ask the next question. The questions can be as hard or as easy as you like, but keep in mind that there are some die-hard fans around here, just looking for a good challenge! :-) You're on your honor not to use aids like the HP Lexicon, though if a question stands for more than 24 hours, feel free to search the books for an answer.

Without further ado . . . let the Wizard Challenge begin!

Question:

List 12 (yes, 12) people who were at the organizational meeting of Dumbledore's Army at the Hog's Head Pub.

Wait, now I'm second-guessing myself. Let me double-check.

there's two I'm uncertain about.....

8Theamwriter
Aug 8, 2011, 10:59am Top

I know there were more than 12 so let's see if I can remember some of them.

1. Harry Potter
2. Hermione Granger
3. Ron Weasley
4. Neville Longbottom
5. Luna Lovegood
6. Lavender Brown
7. Parvati Patil
8. Dean Thomas
9. Cho Chang (+ one of her friends)
10. Padma Patil
11. Angelina Johnson
12. Katie Bell
13. Alicia Spinnet
14. Hannah Abbott (+1)
15. Colin & Dennis Creevey
16. Ernie Macmillan
17. Justin Finch-Fletchley
18. Anthony Goldstein
19. Terry Boot
20. Michael Corner
21. Ginny Weasley (+1)
22. Fred & George Weasley
23. Lee Jordan

I think Polly has all but one correct. I don't remember Seamus Finnigan being there. I think he joined in later on.

9foggidawn

I think this round goes to Alishamb08, for the most complete list, and for correctly identifying Seamus as the one from Polly's list that wasn't at that meeting (he was still miffed at Harry because of their argument on the first day back at Hogwarts, I think).

10pollysmith

There was one in the Weasley's house that basically told him that trying to flatten his hair was a lost cause (can't remember exact words) and one in his room at the Leaky Cauldron that told him to "tuck in your shirt, scruffy"

Welllll, can you count Lily opening and closing a flower in front of Petunia when they were kids? Or Lily jumping off the swings?

It was a YouTube sensation of a bunch of a college putting on a musical based on Harry Potter. It paid homage and also lovingly made fun of the series. It's over two hours long and I thought it had its moments of funniness. It's on YouTube. I do know that Darren Criss, one of the Glee actors (I don't watch the TV show, so I'm not sure who he plays) starred as Harry Potter.

Hey, here's a Wikipedia page on it! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Very_Potter_Musical

He played a guitar and sang a song about himself and his life. In the end, the dragon slept. (I just watched parts of the musical on YouTube. It's very funny, but I have difficulties understanding the actors, especially while they are not singing, because they speak so low.)

I also think it might be him. He came late because he was in search for the giants, that's why she examined him last?

465varielle

No, after Hagrid.

I go with OotP, HBP and DH. I am quite sure he was there in GoF because of the ball. I also say he was there in PoA because Ron's parents were visiting Charlie or something?

Dec 13, 2011, 4:46pm Top

That's correct!

#485 -- Yes, since it's been more than 24 hours since the question was asked, you can look it up in the books. See the original post on this thread for details.

37 Galleons, 15 Sickles, 3 Knuts

(I went ahead and looked it up. The odd thing is, I opened the book to exactly the right page without having to flip through!)
