I am planning my next book and am wondering what you all think: are ghost stories passé? Are vampires yesterday's news? Is reincarnation predictable? Do zombies lack depth? What do you want to read?

Paranormal book lovers (such as myself) will read almost anything as long as the story is interesting, the characters are well defined and likeable, and if the plot doesn't falter.
On a personal level, I'm not crazy about time-travel. To me, that is more on a Sci-Fi level. As far as subject matter, ghosts, vampires, reincarnation, and zombies--if you can put a new twist on it, fans of the paranormal genre will like it. I think that is one great thing about writing about these subjects is because there are no really clear defined "rules" (except that vampires drink blood).

I think even rethinking some of the classic's can be worthy of reading. I like new twists on things. I still love zombies, vampires, ghosts, werewolves and other supernatural elements as much as when i started reading this genre 15 years ago.
