What are you all doing to gear up for NaNoWriMo?
Fellow author J. Leigh Bralick and I run a blog called SisterMuses (http://sistermuses.wordpress.com), and we're gearing up for some crazy NaNoWriMo fun! We'll be documenting our progress as we both try to finish the novel-in-a-month challenge, hosting some blog carnivals, and much more! As J. Leigh and I work through our novels, we'll be posting them at Smashwords (www.smashwords.com) for reader input -- we would love your feedback!!!
If you need some inspiration to get you kick-started for November, we'd love for you to join us!
I'll be working on the sequel to my first novel, Silesia: The Outworlder (it's a fantasy/sci-fi fusion adventure...think Chronicles of Riddick meets St. George and the Dragon...). And, just in honor of NaNoWriMo, the ebook is free on Smashwords (and should soon be free on Amazon as well)! I would love some candid reviews as I get ready to pen the sequel, so if you're looking for a fun read, please check it out!
So...what are you all planning to do for NaNoWriMo?
Don't miss the NaNoWriMo group:
The only thing I do is the preplanning of the novel. I've looked at the Smashwords promo opportunity for two years now and still have no interest in it. If I post a novel-in-progress (which I have done in the past, but don't plan to do again), I'd post where I know I have an audience. That's my Live Journal, where I'm part of an informal writing community, and where I can count on getting some valuable feedback.
Just started seriously getting into writing this month after dabbling for years, so sitting this year out. Might give it a shot next year though.
I've arranged for my writing group to meet at our most-often-used meeting place, a coffee shop downtown, every Monday night from six to nine p.m. for NaNoWriMo Write-In meetings. Nobody wanted to do Tuesdays, which would have given us a fifth meeting evening. I'll be there for each meeting, to do some writing or editing, but I'm not participating in the NaNoWriMo challenge.
I'm doing the NaNoWriMo challenge, but I haven't joined the event. I'm just seeing how much I can do in a month, and then maybe I'll join officially in a year or two. I'm not doing too badly so far (12,000 words in one week - woo-woo!), but we'll see how I fare throughout the month.
