I only requested one book - the Tamara de Lempicka one - and didn't get it (not terribly surprised - need to build up my books about art and artists and fictionalized biographies). But...if I do puppy-dog eyes, would someone who does lend it to me once they've read it? Or trade, I guess. I'll try to get my library to order it, but there's no guarantee there, with the major budget cuts.

25>

It doesn't.

However, most of the books had more than a 20-1 over-requested rate; you had to be among the people with the very closet libraries to the book you requested to snag one. I didn't snag one, either. (I wasn't very surprised; I wasn't a terribly good match for either, so I'll just have to buy them when they come out.) Being in good standing with the program is a minimal baseline, not a guarantee of success.

That's the most common situation, but not a requirement. Some books show up on ER so that they'll arrive shortly after publication, and sometimes they'll show up for a paperback release -- there have even been a couple cases where the same book was offered more than once, for the hardback release and later for the paperback.

@ Rbeelee Did you get at least a notice on your profile that you won Tempest: A Novel by Julie Cross? If not then you probably won it from either the publisher, because they had a sweepstakes to win 1 of 300 copies, or from Goodreads. I believe that the books for each giveaway were shipped about the same time.
