Looking for suggestions and to see if anyone else is interested...
Ever since participating in Cake Wrecks Charity Countdown a couple of years ago, I've been doing something similar on my own every year. This year, since I joined Library Thing, I thought I would focus on Literacy/Reading/Library charities.
The premise works like this:
For 14 days before Christmas, I focus on a set amount of giving per day (ranging from $1 a day to $5) to 14 different charities. At times, my friends and family have participated and it ends up being a great way to make you feel like your doing something "good" for the holidays.
I'm posting here because I'm looking for some good US or international charities based around literacy, reading and/or libraries. Also, if anyone else is interested in participating with me this year, I will start a thread or group and organize the whole thing.
