Underground Time by Delphine de Vigan....except it's a Bloomsbury title...and they have been slow in arriving, of late...
>3 I hope we're over the hump with Bloomsbury delays. Last I heard yesterday afternoon they had finally sorted out whatever was causing the holdups. Gah.
Nothing this month... but I am not as disappointed as I might have been. I think
I only requested one.. since the last 4 or so times I have won a book, it has failed to arrive in a timely fashion. I am currently 2 books behind.. 2 not arrived. :( This is a recent turn of events, as for the past couple of years the books arrived promptly.
found that one of the two actually did arrive yesterday.. so now only one behind from 2 months ago.
Nothing for me again this month. Guess now that I know I can stop sitting here waiting for the comment to appear on my profile and go take care of offline stuff*G*
>4 Gah, indeed! But, a rather small "Gah" in the scheme of things
>6. If they were/are Bloomsbury titles...all of those have been seriously "late". ..of late. The title I am awaiting is from the September batch....try and hang in there.
I won Agents of the Reaper - looks like a pretty interesting fantasy
I won The Whisperer by Donato Carrisi. I am so excited, it looks like a really great read.
I won Flags Over the Warsaw Ghetto and I'm super excited to read it.
Yay! I won Beyond Religion: Ethics for a Whole World by His Holiness The Dalia Lama. I'm excited about this one!
The Deification by Jack Remick. Really interested in this read--the Beat Generation is mod!
YAY I'm so excited to be getting The Dressmaker: A Novel by Kate Alcott
I'm getting Beyond Religion: Ethics for a Whole World by H. H. Dalai Lama ... I'm looking forward to it, as this is the first ER book in long time that I would have probably gone out and bought.
I'm getting The Heiress Companion. First time I've requested an e-book so we'll see how that goes. I'm looking forward to the story, anyway.
>20 I hope you like The Dressmaker...I read it as a Net Galley and was pleasantly surprised at what a good story it is...
I won my very first book - My Name is Noel by Jacqueline Grant Kent. I've never read this author so I'm excited to be getting this book to read.
I got How to Eat a Cupcake by Meg Donohue. As I'm still waiting for my Sept book, I'll bet they both come in at once. Still - should be an easy read during the holidays and if I don't finish it until after 1 Jan, I have a couple of categories in my 12-12 challenge where it will fit.
Will be reading Republic of Words: The Atlantic Monthly and Its Writers, 1857-1925. Thanks much!
WooHoo, my first win since July. I got The Winter Palace. I haven't read a whole lot about Catherine the Great so I'm really excited about this one.
I won Iago. That should be an interesting read sometime during the cold months of 2012.
The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie by Alan Bradley. I have read this (audio from the library), but loved it and look forward to reading it again and owning it and loaning it to my friends so they can fall in love with the series, too.
I snagged the only one I requested - Underground Time by Delphine de Vigan! I reeeeally wanted to win it and didn't want to risk getting another one rather than this one :-D Thank you LT and the almighty algorithm!!
I snagged a copy of Thinking Small: The Long, Strange Trip of the Volkswagen Beetle.
Nothing for me. :( But this was my first time, so I'll just try again in December. :)
I'm delighted that I'm receiving The Dressmaker. This is my fourth ER book, and the first three were outstanding. Thanks to Jeremy, The LibraryThing, and especially the publishers who make these books available to us!
Racing the Devil
I did not even remember I went through the list early this month and requested a few books... I like surprises
Underground Time for me. Still waiting for Sept. and Oct. books. Hope they don't all arrive at once...
I am so happy to be getting An Available Man by Hilma Wolitzer. Thanks!
I won a copy of The Inquisitor by Mark Allen. Thanks, looking forward to it!
Looking forward to reading "Purgatory" by Tomas Eloy Martinez (author died 31 Jan. 2010)
This is my first time participating and I won The Heiress Companion by Madeleine Robins. Since it was an eBook I received it already. Looks like a fun read.
I'll soon be "learning" How to Eat a Cupcake!
(It's been a super crazy month for me and I actually forgot I had requested a book in this batch so it was a renewed surprise to learn I'm getting it - sounds like a cute fun book!)
Interestingly enough, I requested I am Half Sick of Shadows last time and didn't get it but this time I got Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie, so I guess that the mighty algorithm and/or powers that be decided that I needed to read the series in order!
I won The Odd Clauses. Really looking forward to reading it. I'm glad I won one of the American history/Constitution books this month, they were the only title I requested.
I won Treasure Hunter by WC Jameson.I have already received the book and started reading it.So far it is wonderful and I am already looking into reading more of his books. He has written 70 books so I have lots and lots to look forward to.So far I have won 2 books from the early reviewers program and they both were books I really wanted. If you haven't joined the club yet you dont know what your missing out on.Congrats to everyone on your wins. Thank you librarything!
