This Book is about a kid named Will who never really knew his parents because his dad died fighting a war and his mom died giving birth to him. The books starts when he is 15 and he lives with other people who has no parents and he is the smallest out of all of them. He gets picked on by a kid named Horace who is much bigger and stronger than him, and the next day their getting picked for apprentices and he wants to go to battle school but he's not big enough.
So the next day comes and him and his roomates all line up to see which master they will have to train them, Horace gets into battleschool, and then Will doesnt get picked but he sees the Ranger pass the Baron a note and will thinks its about him so he wants to find out what it says so he told himself that after it gets dark out he will go get the note and see what it says. Then night time comes and he goes to the castle and sneaks up the wall without getting caught and goes through the window and he thinks he hasnt been seen, so he goes to the desk and sees the note and goes to grab it, right before he touches it the Rangers hand flies out and grabs his wrist. Then the Baron enters the room and he wants to know what to do with Will the Ranger says to show him the note and it says "The boy Will has the potential as a Ranger. I will accept him as my apprentice.

If will lived now days he would be as stealthy as he was in the book because we have better technology now days but he would still be quick and agile but he would be able to last in our time, he is smart and a good learner.

What kind of technology would make him more stealthy? what kind of job do you think he would take up these days?

Will goes with Halt to go find a Kalkra it is a monkey bear type thing that they think is trying to kill the king. The Kalkra will work for anyone as long as they get silver in return. So Will and Halt make their way around the plains and they find the trails to the Kalkra so Halt tells will to go get the Baron and Sir Rodney to help him fight off the beasts. But when when Will tells the Baron and Sir Rodney every thing, Will Realizes that the Kalkra are not going after the Baron thier going after Halt so they make their way back to the plains and they find a dead Kalkra and they see halt climbing a wall running away from the secound Kalkra so the Baron and Sir Rodney yell at Halt, then they charge it. Then Sir Rodney looks in the Kalkra's eyes and freezes, just before it was about to strike Will shoots an arrow stright into the Kalkras heart and it falls over and dies. Then they had a big celebration for will because Will saved Sir Rodney and Baron and every one knows Will now.
