I maintain a rather large personal library and use the LCC system to organize the books. Probably around 10% of my books do not have LoC listings or have a CPB Box number. Is it possible to use a Z39.50 program to find the LCC from other databases?
Or does anyone know another way (short of spending exorbitant amounts of money) I could locate LCC numbers? WorldCat is usually fruitless for me.

Would OCLC's Classify service be of use to you? See http://classify.oclc.org/classify2/ For example, I searched for Feynman's "What do you care..." using the ISBN on the copy I have in hand. See http://tinyurl.com/cn3ybbb As you can see, Classify returned the most frequently applied LCC and DDC numbers. Take a look. I hope it's useful to you.
