The weather here in central ohio is terrible right now, wind and cold cold snow/rain! I'm glad I'm home and warm

California is serene, as usual. We even had the windows open today.

Sometimes I wish a good snowstorm would come here. Then all the softies here in the suburbs would learn how to toughen up and stop complaining about a spot of rain.

Nothing like a foot of snow to make you appreciate rain! LOL!

#2 ErisedofDiscord:
Hey, now. I live in a CA suburb and love the rain. ;)

Completely right, though. There's nothing to tell about our weather. I'm hoping to go see some snow soon.

Last night, Minnesota had rain that turned into sleet that turned into the biggest snow flakes I have ever seen. We were party hopping and for a short time visibility was almost non-existent. Thankfully, it calmed down a bit by the time we drove again. I haven't left the house today, so I don't know much about what's happening now, just that the wind has been very audible. It's still above zero though, which makes me happy :)

Uncommonly warm here. Today's high was 61. We've not had any real winter weather yet here.

7pollysmith
Jan 5, 2012, 8:24pm

we're going to be warm tomorrow (50) but then it will be cold but not brutally cold

8foggidawn
Jan 11, 2012, 10:38am

It's been unseasonably warm here, but the cold weather is supposed to slam in this weekend, with a chance of snow.

I hear ya FD, we'll get it before you do!

10katelisim

It was unseasonably awesome. . . . then we got rainy snow today *poutface.

We have had a great winter so far in ND it was 50 on monday but now old man winter is sneaking in it's 5 degrees today with strong winds but still just a dusting of snow! Last year at this time we had more snow than we knew what to do with!

14pollysmith
Jan 13, 2012, 5:55pm

Okay so we have had our first winter storm of the season. Ice and snow wind and bitter cold

15foggidawn
Jan 13, 2012, 8:08pm

#14 -- Yep, it's been yucky. Extremely cold and windy, with that gritty, powdery snow that stings when it blows in your face.

Brrr! Who took my nice weather? We've been so spoiled with mild weather and now the cold came back with a bitter wind.

Interesting how it moves to the west and we all experience the same thing

It's pretty warm in CA. I've been out walking with short sleeved shirts. I saw a lot of people snacking on ice cream today.

19pollysmith
Jan 15, 2012, 4:42pm

Its supposed to warm up here. I don't know about short sleeves tho

It's been an unusually warm winter here, even for Southern California. On Monday it was finally cold and rainy but the rest of the week it's been getting warmer and windier. 80 degrees with high winds is one of my least favorite types of weather. :(

21pollysmith
Jan 29, 2012, 8:39am

It never rains in Southern California....

Jan 29, 2012, 8:08pm

I know this might sound crazy to some, but I want snow!! We've had an unusually warm winter so far, without any hint of snow, and it makes me sad. The past two winters were great, because we had several good but manageable snowfalls, and I want that again.

23foggidawn
Jan 29, 2012, 9:41pm

#22 -- It's been mild here, too. We've had a couple of small snows, but they were not nice snows, if that makes sense. Just a couple of inches each time, and it was hard, crusty snow that was not fun to play in or walk in, nor was it deep enough to really look pretty.

be careful what you wish for

25katelisim
Feb 2, 2012, 9:45am

We've also been mild. Our snow stuck a while back. Now we are in the thaw/freeze cycle. . . so there is ice everywhere in the mornings/evenings but mostly great in the afternoons. Though, a few sidewalk stretches at school are under tree cover and stay ice--accumulating more each day. I almost took a spill on them, so I've been walking on the road instead.

It was 65 degrees here yesterday. In the Northeast. Ridiculous.

Very bad fog this morning. The snow that was here when we got here plus the bit that came last week, is about gone, but some more is expected on Saturday. Today, it was 48.

#21 Haha it seems like it, especially this winter.

Today it has cooled off to the mid 70s. Not sure if it's ever going to get colder than that before next winter...

The last few days have been super foggy. Last night, it all froze! There were ice crystals on everything. Not just flat, either, standing crystals. There was one sticking out from the keyhole on my car. Here's a pic I found online that looks pretty dang close to how -everything- looked for the first half of the day. The trees started melting around 2-3 this afternoon.

So...I just pictured foggi in a cape shooting ice crystals.

"Three weeks late?! Do you think you're the only one who wanted that book? I'll show you! Mwahahahaha!" *delinquent borrower stands crystallized*

31foggidawn

Super Foggi!

Funny!

Where would we be without imagination? *shivers*

Thanks for sharing the picture, Kate! I can only imagine (interesting word choice, no? ;) from here.

California is somewhat hot. I've noticed a lot of people riding bikes these last few days.

But Vernon Dursley doesn't approve of Imagination!

35ErisofDiscord
Feb 5, 2012, 7:04pm

Indeed, California is nice now, and though I am still pining for a snowstorm, I have been able to get my bike out again so that I can huff and puff up the smallest inclines. I am so out of shape.

Three inches of snow today, and freezing rain coming. School was canceled today, but will be back in session for tomorrow. It should be 48 degrees tomorrow, and 60 on Wednesday.

Feb 20, 2012, 9:35pm

We finally got some snow yesterday! Wasn't much, only about an inch, and given how warm it's been and today's sun, it's almost gone. But it finally came!!!

We had snow a couple days ago. Then we got melty days and frozen nights. Now we have ice everywhere :/

We had a very blustery day today -- beautiful clear sky, but cold and windy.

As winter is nearing its end, we finally got our winter weather! Biggest storm of the year, it's been pouring all day. :) I love to wake up to rain and lie there listening to it for a few minutes.

Too warm! I like my temps in the 50-65 F range. . . it's almost 80! Spring, where are yooooouuuuu?!?

46grkmwk
Mar 20, 2012, 9:48am

#45, katelisim - We seem to have skipped over spring as well: it's going to be 81 here today. Ugh! Given that today is the first day of spring but already feels like the early days of summer does not bode well for what the real summer temps will be. Sigh.

47ChelseaBottomley

It's looking absolutely beautiful outside right now. It's pouring rain and the sun is shining; I love this weather. :)

It's also only 49 degrees outside...definitely cold for our spring, especially compared to last week's upper 80s.

the weather everywhere seems to be confused.
