Our first Denver Meet-up is coming up quickly. We plan to meet this Saturday around noon at The Tattered Cover in Highlands Ranch. If you're in the Denver area on January 14, we'd love to meet some more bookish LT members!

I'm planning to eat a big breakfast because sometimes we talk so much about books that we forget to eat!

Hooray! I have to make sure some carpool stuff works out, then I'll plan to be there for sure!

Darn. I visit Highlands Ranch occasionally for business (yep, Lockheed Martin!), but not this week. :(

We'll probably meet again in mid to late summer, Jim. Maybe you can make that meetup!

So far it looks like Anne (AMQS), Jenn (nittnut), Joanne (coppers), and myself will be meeting on Saturday. All are welcome!

Donna, thanks so much for the invitation. I would love to join you, but I work on Saturdays, all day, at my library in La Veta (4 hours south of Denver). Maybe some day! Donna A.

Hi Donna, Anne, and Jenn, I'm really looking forward to getting together on Saturday! Sorry I haven't been around here much.

If anyone is interested in having a bite to eat, there are a couple of restaurants in the same shopping center. Jenn - have you been to either Old Blinking Light or Landsdowne Arms? (I haven't) There's also an Egg and I which is a very casual breakfast/sandwich place and pretty good. Also some fast casual restaurants always seem to be popping up in that area. We could eat and then shop, or not, whatever you guys feel like - I'm easy!

>3 drneutron: Dang, Jim. It would have been great to meet you!

>6 dallenbaugh: Hi Donna - Too bad you can't join us. But maybe another time! It'd be a long drive though. (Your books show up in my connection news and so I know we have similar libraries - and obviously you have good taste in books!) :)

We love when Donna comes to town, because that means an LT meet-up!

Our third Denver LT meet-up was fun! Jenn (nittnut), Donna (Donna828), Joanne (coppers) and I met at the Tattered Cover in Highlands Ranch, and actually managed to pull ourselves away from the bookstore to go eat lunch this time (don't worry, we went back to the bookstore, too). A bonus was that we were able to meet Jenn's 13 year old son, and Joanne's son, now a freshman in college.

Here are photos. From left: Jenn (nittnut), Donna (Donna 828), Joanne (coppers), Anne (AMQS):

What a wonderful group of readers! Hopefully there will be more photos posted.

Hi Anne, It was so nice to see you today! I'm already looking forward to our next get together. I'll post my photo here, too, but I think we're going to have to learn to dance around and do something different with each camera change. I had meant to take a photo outside the store, too, but totally spaced it. Next time!

It's always fun to see LT Meet-up photos. You all look great and seem to be having a wonderful time. Thanks for posting the pictures!

I think Joanne is right... we need more variety in our pictures! I won't post the one of the four of us in the cookbook section of The Tattered Cover. It looks amazingly similar to the others. ;-)

However, I did get a couple of different poses:

Here we are sharing a meal at Corner Bakery Cafe, just a short walk from the bookstore on a beautiful mild and sunny winter day in Denver.

On left side of table: Joanne (coppers) and Anne (AMQS); right side:Me (Donna828) and Jenn (nittnut).

I love this picture of Jenn and her 13-year-old son, Jonah, a potential future LT Member!

I would have snapped a photo of Joanne and her son, but he was with friends, and I didn't want to embarrass him anymore than he probably was by having us there at the same time. ;-)

I'm at home now and can only add that it was great seeing these three LT friends again. We'd love it if more people in the Denver area can join us next time. We're hoping to get together again in either July or August of this year.

It was great seeing you ladies - I love that photo of my son.

Maybe we can figure out a good time to meet at TC Lodo and make it easier for those on the other side of town.

Sounds like you all had a wonderful time! Wish I could have been there, not only to meet all of you (well, I do know Donna!) but also to visit the Tattered Cover again. What a neat book store! Thanks for sharing the pictures!

Love the mother & son picture - and all the others, too, of course. Looks like a great time, and a delicious lunch!

Looks like fun! If you have one in the summer, perhaps I will do a road trip and join you from Montana. I keep wanting to go to some of the Seattle meetups, but have not yet made it. Montana=far away from fun-looking meetups!

>17 streamsong:: That would be great, Janet! Pat (phebj) in Idaho has expressed an interest in traveling to Denver to join us at one of the summer meetups, too. Maybe we'll have to rename it the Great Western Meetup!

I told Jenn she could plan the next one and I'll just show up. Hopefully, that way we can get our name in the pot in plenty of time to attract new people. Denver makes a great vacation destination!

Looks like the meet-up was fun! What a beautiful bunch of readers and who would have guessed that Jenn's son is 13? LOL
