I was surprised. I turned out to be 0%. I thought from my answers, that I was a little bit Mormon, in the way folks always say, "I'm a little bit Cherokee"
I'm exactly as Mormon as I am Cherokee. Which is not a surprise.
(Whew) That's a relief. I was afraid I might score a point or two on account of some (non-Mormon) religious practice in my far distant background, but it turned out all right with a zero.
0% here, and I cherish my ignorance! Not really, I own a copy of the BoM, but I could honestly answer that I hadn't read it recently, since I haven't ever read it cover-to-cover.
Although there probably is a Book of Mormon somewhere in the house, a gift from my former neighbours...
0% here too. I've read bits of the BoM at some point or another, but never a complete read. It is one of the books that I'd like to read more of just to get a better idea of where some Mormon beliefs come from.
Another 0% ... Must admit I gave a lot of "What the hell is... / Who the hell is..." answers.
Well, that's eyebrow-raising:
(As a kid, we were friends with a family of Mormons. As a consequence, not only have I read the Book of Mormon, but I've actually been to the Hill Cumorah pageant.
But I had no idea it had run so deep....)
I was a wee bit worried that living near mormons in California and travelling to Salt lake City a few times would have impacted me, but alas, another 0 percenter. Now is there one of these for catholics?
Well there's http://www.gotoquiz.com/are_you_catholic_1
...which seems to be written from the point of view of hoping that you are. I got 16% Catholic on this (presumably just for knowing who the Pope is and where he lives). ;^)
15% Mormon and 70% Catholic. Not surprising as I went to a Catholic school where the LDS would have been anathema!
IMO, that quiz is inaccurate and tendentious. Although its site is arguably in need of new web designers, this quiz seems much more insightful to me (and gets my level of "Mormonness" exactly right).
>17 well according to that one, I emerge 100% secular humanist. Surprise!
(...but raises my "Mormonness" to 32%)
Thanks. Actually double thanks, I am as much catholic as mormon. 0. Thank the gods.
#15 is amusing
You are 22% a good Roman Catholic
#17: Interesting quiz, though (for me) it still seems to be starting from a religious frame of reference.
That question about "good works/compassion is still necessary" seems to have put me on the "religious" spectrum:
1. Secular Humanism (100 %)
2. Unitarian Universalism (86 %)
3. Non-theist (79 %)
4. Liberal Quakers - Religious Society of Friends (75 %)
5. Mainline - Liberal Christian Protestants (69 %)
6. Theravada Buddhism (66 %)
7. Neo-Pagan (63 %)
8. Reform Judaism (61 %)
9. New Age (51 %)
10. Taoism (48 %)
11. New Thought (42 %)
12. Mahayana Buddhism (41 %)
13. Sikhism (39 %)
14. Christian Science Church of Christ, Scientist (36 %)
15. Scientology (36 %)
16. Bahai (32 %)
17. Jainism (27 %)
18. Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormons) (26 %)
19. Orthodox Quaker - Religious Society of Friends (26 %)
20. Hinduism (21 %)
21. Eastern Orthodox (19 %)
22. Islam (19 %)
23. Orthodox Judaism (19 %)
24. Roman Catholic (19 %)
25. Mainline - Conservative Christian Protestant (17 %)
26. Seventh Day Adventist (9 %)
27. Jehovahs Witness (6 %)
On the Mormon test I was 11% Mormon. I'm surprised it was so low because I was a Mormon until I went to college. Got a scholarship to BYU, went elsewhere - so not that good a Mormon even then, huh?
On the Catholic test I was 42% Catholic. Really? My sister was catholic as were many friends, combine that with reading I guess I have some knowledge but none of the beliefs.
On the last one I'm 100% secular humanist, 28% Mormon and 14% catholic. Well, I do make popcorn balls for Christmas and something we call the Mormon white stuff as a dip for fruit salad. That must count for something.
I guess the moral is that when composing a quiz like those, you've got to be careful to differentiate between respondents who know about the tenets/practices of a particular faith, and those who actually follow them...
22> yeah, I think the composite one does well for that. I was Catholic until I turned 22 (and pretty devoted, though not necessarily devout, because I thought abstaining during Lent was stupid in the modern age, and other things of that nature), and it was my lowest score - only 6%.
I thought this might help.
...and I went to church every Sunday as a kid but I got that watered down to 1% RC.
0% mormon- although my friend at school did take me to their church once.
58% Catholic- although it was really 100% (forced) up to the age of 17 and then 0% immediately that I left home.
On the big one, 100% Seccular humanism. But I am amused that Scientology (29%) beats out RC (19%) by quite some way. Must wind up the god-bothering relatives with that one next time they try and push the guilt-buttons.
That larger quiz (http://selectsmart.com/RELIGION/) was interesting ... here are my results:
1. Non-theist (100%)
2. Secular Humanism (100%)
3. Unitarian Universalism (75%)
4. Liberal Quakers - Religious Society of Friends (72%)
5. Theravada Buddhism (59%)
6. Taoism (58%)
7. Mainline - Liberal Christian Protestants (54%)
8. Neo-Pagan (50%)
9. Mahayana Buddhism (49%)
10. Jainism (48%)
11. New Age (48%)
12. Reform Judaism (45%)
13. Bahai (35%)
14. Christian Science Church of Christ, Scientist (35%)
15. New Thought (35%)
16. Orthodox Quaker - Religious Society of Friends (35%)
17. Scientology (35%)
18. Sikhism (33%)
19. Hinduism (32%)
20. Islam (25%)
21. Orthodox Judaism (25%)
22. Mainline - Conservative Christian Protestant (22%)
23. Seventh Day Adventist (13%)
24. Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormons) (9%)
25. Eastern Orthodox (9%)
26. Roman Catholic (9%)
27. Jehovahs Witness (0%)
Although a plurality of wives is ridiculous, a plurality of husbands might be interesting.
You are 0% Mormon!!
Lucky you!! You're about as far from Mormon as you can get. Have you ever even heard about the LDS Church?
I said I was open to polygamy and I still scored a 0%... I think that makes me at least .5% lol

More Protestant than Taoist? More Scientologist than Muslim? Fie!
