I finished a fantasy novel called Storytale on my Kindle this weekend. Excellent book. The author, Kevin Jackson, really brings you in right away with a startling opener. But he also, and I don't know how he did this, used poetry throughout the book. At the end, he shows every word one of the main character speaks, and all her words form into sonnets. It's really incredible. Aside from the poetry, the book was incredibly descriptive, giving me really good visuals. I definitely recommend this book to anybody!

I can tell you right now, your message is going to get flagged into oblivion. A brand new, empty account plugging a book that doesn't even have an entry here on LT, in multiple groups? Obvious shilling.

I don't get it. How am I supposed to get the word out if I'm flagged when trying to let people know about it?

How am I supposed to get the word out

Umm...I am told to use "Washo" to get whiter than white washes. I expect it on TV, but, when a complete unknown
tells me XYZ is the best thing since "sliced bread" I am cautious.
When I hear it on LT, I do rather like to know the "postees CHOPS".
You know, background, what sort of books they read. Their
other posts, their other opinions...

OH DEAR Book_it

Nothing, Zilch, Null, Empty set...

I could be wrong, but I suspect you are a "spammer"!

If you are not, please try and convince us otherwise.
The conservations on LT can be quite stimulating.

ETA. I sometimes think I am too polite...

How Authors Can Use Librarything

Note the section at the bottom entitled "tread lightly," particularly this bullet point (emphasis mine): "Do not post messages in Talk advertising your book. You can promote your book in Hobnob with Authors, but posting a blurb about your book and never coming back to discuss it is still seen as overt advertising."

I understand your frustration, as I am a new author, too, but a) put your book in your library, and don't have it be the only one, b) there are some forums out there for promoting your book, and c) do your due diligence - otherwise you can find yourself banned from a site that in the future could be a great boon to you, if you make friends, enjoy the camaraderie, and don't self-promote. Be the Buddha! Just let it be, and talk about your favorite books! Besides, this should be a respite. I get sick of the constant promotion. Sometimes I feel like a used car salesman, or a piranha in a feeding tank. Chum, everybody!
