A safer society ?

This happened in the small town where my son lives...a few miles from me. The home was in his little subdivision.
The homeowner had to know this young man. He is from the area and has been for a while. The shooter could not have heard his voice or even taken time to look at this person for very long. Or, even worse he did know him and thought the world might be a better place without him. The homeowner knew about the party and he knew the cops were coming. He had to shoot first and ask questions later. He did not shoot this young man in the leg or the arm, he shoot him in the chest.
The gun was licensed, the man had taken gun safety courses. Perhaps this guys perception of imminent danger is different than mine ?
The fact that this young man is Black is going to make this even more of an issue. There are not many Blacks in the Slinger/West Bend area. Those who live in this area are easy to identify. My grandson's best friend is one of them....he stands out. I'd like to say I would recognize him in the dark but I'm not sure, I sure as heck would know his voice.

One wonders what kind of satisfaction this homeowner had when he watched this young man bleed to death on his porch ? After all, he was protecting his "castle" from a run away partier who was afraid of an under age drinking ticket.

Many of the problems of the inner city are going to migrate to the armed suburbs. Doesn't take long. Three months !

This proves that there is a vast difference between legality and morality.

Proves also the more legality immoral people feel they have, the greater the potential for harming others.

Spoke with my son.....the guy who shot the kid was tapping his gun on the window before the cops came.... showing it to the kids. Kid must have been a bit messed up and ran to the wrong porch. The houses are only about 10 feet apart.
Something tells me this guy knew what he was doing.

I don't care how LEGAL guns are.....the more of them in society the greater the chance of this kind of crap.

Kid's mother is on suicide watch.

Geez, I hope they can get this jerk for something. The new laws aren't going to make it easy. Kid was never in the house....rest of the kids think he just ran back to the wrong porch. There was no intent to harm anyone, none of the kids were armed....they were indulging in some underage drinking.
Been there done that ! Also fleeing from the police....guilty of that as well. Wasn't a death sentence when I was young.
