"Kony 2012 is a film and campaign by Invisible Children that aims to make Joseph Kony famous, not to celebrate him, but to raise support for his arrest and set a precedent for international justice.

And above all, share this video. Average, everyday people (that includes you and me...unless you're a 1% in disguise) are making history.

Maybe read this first? http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/blogpost/post/invisible-childrens-stop-kony-...

also http://visiblechildren.tumblr.com

The Invisible Children organization seems kind of sketchy to me.

I've read those, already. I should edit that first post. Everything above that last line is a direct quote. In any case, it doesn't cost anything to watch the video, share it with others, or harass the government. To address "They’re doing a good thing at their heart" on tumblr, they mention in the video that one of the organization's goals is for professionals to visit the afflicted countries and train locals to defend their home. They're not just raising awareness and leaving it at that.

Thank you for providing those links, though!

Ah, I guess I mean that I can't support an organization that claims to be in the interests of social welfare, yet supports military interference and especially the way Invisible Children seems to do.

I can see that. There are several causes that I support, but I'm not too keen on the organizations running them.
