I would like to hear people's opinions and ideas about the tag "sff". http://www.librarything.com/tag/sff This is the 'top' tag for science fiction/fantasy tags. But if you read the guidelines for tag combining, combining acronyms with non-acronyms is frowned on. And the example given is "sf" for science fiction or San Francisco or....
Personally, having "sff" as the main tag for all of science fiction/fantasy books bothers me a lot. I would like to separate it (and it's variants) out, combine all clear science fiction/fantasy tags into one and all "sff" into one. But this would be a lot of proposals and I have the feeling that many people would vote against it.
So, opinions and ideas?
I've done a tagmash to see if there are any works tagged SFF where it isn't used to mean science fiction or fantasy: http://www.librarything.com/tag/sff,+--fantasy,+--science+fiction,+--sf
It looks like this might be the case where it is so overwhelmingly used for that meaning that even if there were works tagged SFF, they'd get lost among the science fiction/fantasy ones anyway, so it may as well stay combined to get those one-copy stragglers in.
I don't really mnind it being in there, but I really do mind it being the top tag.
