My collection includes journal articles, reports, newspaper articles so I'd like to change the tab title. Can I do that?
No, sorry, it's not possible to change the tab title (for any of the tabs). Even if you could, it wouldn't help your search, since the data sources would remain the same.
could one not use the manual entry option for including the materials you describe. I have a lot of pamphlets and its too time consuming to enter eachone (many are rather obscure) so thinking about packaging together and doing a single entry related to subject matter under the manual add option
You cannot change the tab title but it still matches what you will be doing.
In LT any record is considered a book (not the real life book -- but in the LT language book is any entry in a library). So when you add something, you add a book.
I am bothered by something I see on the site - namely when one takes a look at the "largest libraries" and one expects to be impressed, one simply finds that these so called largest libraries are collections of comics. I suppose its a site for all comers but there is hardly a comparison of comics and books. Thoughts? Means of differentiating?
And what is your problem with comics? Pricing? Quality? Space they are taking? Something else?
Please.... I swopped comics with the boys at the local Sat morning Western movie when I was about 7 and comics taught me to read but one grows up and starts to read books and visits libraries and I thought that this site was all about libraries and hopefully serious ones at that! I had a collection of comics i a suitcase under my bed and that's about where they belong??? Probably should have kept them and they'd be a lot more valuable than all the marvelous books I now lucky to have. comics are not books tho they may be collectable paper
People can add whatever they want (although personally I wish they didn't add perfumes) so this isn't an issue. Next!
If you believe that comics and graphic novels are just for kids, you had missed a lot of good reading. But that's your own choice. No reason to go around and offend people though.
The libraries in ST contain what people call their libraries. Someone else's approval is not required.
