I just realized after I posted my news that linking in some circles is considered declasse. I will remove it if anyone is offended. I had a used-car salesman moment because I was so excited.

Links are not crossing the line. If you are an active member of this group (and from what I have seen you are) you should be allowed to promote your work considering Hobnob with Authors is mainly where authors can promote their work. So I say go for it.

Thanks, dpappas. Much appreciated!

The main problem with links comes if there's nothing else in the message -- spammers often have a post with just the link, or a few words and the link, so any posts that look like that tend to be flagged as spam. Including links in a conversational post is absolutely fine.

Thanks, Joanna. As a new author I get excited being in the top 100 (of Fantasy), but I don't want to be a pest. I've been a member of LT for a while and don't want to ruin my standing here.

Ditto what Joanna wrote. Nevertheless, congratulations! Sometimes we just can't contain ourselves when we receive good news.
