Tim asked me to open a new bug to cover the additions to http://www.librarything.com/topic/137048

Cover images aren't showing up correctly on the Home tab or the work pages, but do display correctly on "Your books"

Tim - jbdtest2 library works as a test-case

This also *seems* to be the case when adding books (when results appear in the right-hand pane, the covers often don't seem to be displaying)

Covers should now be back to normal - anybody still seeing weirdness?

Can't get my cover to load the 'Members Giveaway' section.

>4 Yeah, cover images (and other things) in Member Giveaways are still screwed up. Tim knows about it and it's on his list.

Hi jbdi!

Some covers on, some not. For example:

http://www.librarything.com/work/book/86499127

The cover shows up on my "Profile" and "Your Books" but not on "Home". I added it yesterday, so this cannot be a short time lag.

greetings from Vienna, John

There is still something lagging on the home pages, i.e.
http://www.librarything.com/home/bnielsen
doesn't show a cover for three of my recently added books,

http://www.librarything.com/work/book/87125805
http://www.librarything.com/work/book/87122913
http://www.librarything.com/work/book/86997757

Not a big thing, but shouldn't they show up within a reasonably
short time? (I'm trying to get rid of all my amazon provided cover
images, so I'm rather focused on covers these days. In the long run
I'm trying to scan all covers on my books, but that'll take a year or
two.)

>8 I'm seeing covers for your books. And the cover for a book I just added and uploaded a scanned cover showed up straight away.

>9 Strange. I just see my default cover for number 1,2 and 4 from the left under "recently added".

Did you do any editing on those books after you corrected their covers? That's an old bug - somehow Recently Added shows covers if and only if adding the cover was the _last_ bit of editing you did on the book. Try re-adding the same cover and see if it shows up.

#11: Nice. That fixed it. And yes, I did edit the books after correcting the covers. I'm scanning rather a lot of covers to get rid of first the amazon covers and then the 'best guess' member supplied. So I scan the cover and add a comment, so I can easily find them again if something went amiss. Once in a while I start reading one of the books and add a review.
So the bug is identified and there's a workaround for it. Thanks!

Yeah. And stuff ages off the homepage reasonably fast - so you don't need to bother with the re-application of the cover for older books (since the cover appears anyway everywhere else). But I really wish they'd figure this one out - it's been reported _so_ many times.
