We are attempting to compile a LIST of the best western films of all time and we need votes. If you have the urge, please toss out nominees. And by the way, as far as I am concerned, yes, the Aussie film The Proposition should be considered a western.

And, besides Blazing Saddles?

If that's your choice, please post it on Bully's Tavern.

Il Etait un Fois dans L'Ouest. Henry Fonda plays an old gunslinger who gets his comeuppance. A late Sergio Leone and utterly insanely BRILLIANT. I went to it obsessively when I was living in Paris and don't know it by any other name.

She Wore a Yellow Ribbon. Outlaw Josie Wales. The Treasure of the Sierra Madre.

I'll see if the Tavern accepts your vote.

Late to post but I agree with the dawg Blazing Saddles is superb parody of the western. I would add Pale Horse, Pale Rider and Shane

Shane may end up on top...

Pale Horse must be Behold a Pale Horse, a Spanish Civil War flick...

I saw Pale Rider a few weeks ago, and I would put it in about the middle of all Eastwood westerns. similar plot to Shane.

Little Big Man the book, and the movie, remains one of my all-time favorite westerns.
