After searching around on the boards for a bit and reading the post about offering free books I've decided to do some free giveaways. I just completed a goodreads giveaway were 772 people entered to win 2 signed copies. I was happy with the results. I am posting a giveaway on LT for the ebook of my novel, In Between Seasons to the tune of 5 copies. If you're interested please enter.
Has anyone here done the LT ebook giveaways, and if so what was their success as far as sales results from this?
My two forays into LT Ebook Giveaways were good - I was surprised by the number of people requesting free copies (or maybe not) - exceeded my expectations.
I have yet to buy your book, (was waiting until my annual migration to the hills, which is usually much earlier. Now this place is becoming an oven.) I did two, the fist in April to learn, the second in May with more intention and was pleased like Ellen by the number of people asking for a copy and, in the first at least, both the (quick) number, variety and asked for honesty of the reviews. 5 copies, however, seems a rather smallish number, particularly for the genre, though that might be your intention. You'll have a bizillion requests again. And later maybe a nudge up in sales.
I am hoping that those on good reads that have an e-reader and were interested would enter here, and that I could peak the interest of those who use LT. It's a test pilot to see how many requests I will get, and should this go well I would consider doing another one too. What I can't figure out is why it hasn't posted onto the giveaway yet. When I read the instructions it said it would appear within 5 mintues, but I have yet to see it actually post. Has any one else had this issue or is more experience with the LT giveaway and knows why it's taking so long?
I think there are some current bugs with the member giveaway programme
If you think there are actual bugs, post them to Bug Collectors. Just keep in mind that "This doesn't work the way I want it to" is not a bug.
Contact technical support for the Giveaways, CG - yes, it should have posted; and it could be a technical glitch.
I emailed info and Jeremy let me know the programmers are working on the issue right now and it should be functioning shortly.
It looks like the giveaway's are back up and running! The copies are still set at 5, and it ends in a week!
The eBook Member giveaways still have problems . They are working on it.
#10 #11 I've just seen your giveaway Giovanni is also an eBook. Mine didn't go through.
I'm sorry to hear the glitches aren't completely cleared up. I had to put up a new one, as my one I put in when they were having glitches disappeared. This giveaway is for the e-book, as I did a goodreads giveaway for the physical edition of the book and wanted to try an e-book giveaway.
Mine is stuck in the pending queue, but they are aware of the issues. Fingers crossed.
Yeah, that's what happened to me last time! I hope it gets fixed soon for you.
I'm a bit concerned you lost a few weeks when they did list it. Did you ask for the lost time to be added?
No, I just re-started the whole thing fresh. I suppose one could choose a longer duration to make up for it if they liked.
Well, they had it blocked for a while. Then I went in to check on it and it wasn't anymore, so I went ahead and tried and it worked...
It seems that it really isn't working, or something glitched with mine. I don't have any winners and it's back in pending books. Unless it takes this long to tell me who the winners are?
I can't help you on the winners. Best to email Jeremy.
I got the go ahead to put my book on the member giveaway and it is now there.
I hope it raises awareness.
