Biographies of South African writers

There are 2 members that have added over 1000 South African works recently, I try to add some CK (common knowledge) detail about the authors. What amazes me , or am I just missing something, or am I just a bad searcher, how little biographical detail is available about South Africans. There are a few such as http://www.sahistory.org.za/ or occasionally Wikipedia but for the most part I am struggling. Take Anna H Smith, the venerable Johannesburg librarian, I cannot find anything about her. Can anyone help me find a good website or should I start my own.
