256. The Pit A Story of Chicago, by Frank Norris (read 5 June 1946) I was struck by the description of the trading room in this book and years later when I visited the site in Chicago I was amazed that Norris's description was still accurate.

Marginalia by H.J. JacksonThis is a fun, informative book offering not only the notes left in margins themselves, but in most cases, historical facts and the psychology that rendered them, also. I have owned it for many years now and have returned to it time and again to be entertained and informed. 418BoobalackEdited: Sep 29, 2012, 6:05pm

Nasser the Last Arab by Said Aburish* This one affords a rare B to start the next title. It own title is, to me, silly. I realize that many (not all) Arabs admire Nasser, but I wonder what an Arab of the 1970--Present era would think about being excluded from Arab ethnicity, by reason of not being Nasser.
Bliss by O.Z. Livaneli>R.P., you'rre so right. The title is awful. It's as if no Arab peoples exist now or at any time after Nasser. But the "B" was cool! :-)

Keeping The Books by Linda Pinson I thought it would be tough to find a "k". Not so much.
I've been looking at the titles, and how they connect in odd ways to each other. It's uncanny how some of them seem connected.

Round Robin by Jennifer Chiaverini*>Schmerguls, I am hugely impressed that you either remember what you read so many years ago, or that you've kept track of your reading all these years. Either way, you are impressive.
2698. Learned Hand: The Man and the Judge, by Gerald Gunther (read 22 Jan 1995) Thank you, Bookwoman. There is no way I could just remember what and when I read a book. When I was in 2nd or 3rd grade two of my older sisters were keeping track of the books they read and I thought that was a neat idea. So I made a list of every book I had read up to that time--that was not hard, since there were so few of them: in the Depression there were few books in our farm home and we had no ready access to a public library. Ever since I have as soon as I finished a book recorded it, carrying my record book with me wherever I went--to college, boot camp, aboard ship, to law school, and now look forward to recording a book as soon as I finish it. TThe entire list has long since been computerized and in seconds of couse I can find any word or author in the list. I really think everybody should keep track. It is a source of satisfaction to me.
