I am in a flippant mood at the moment. Well this is my usual state.
Recently I re viewed some of my groups and cracked up
with see #25 or there abouts and the comment in #26.
Well that started me thinking. What are some of the best quips/rejoinders/come-backs you have seen on LT.
OK, OK if it aint from LT (and it had better be good)
I recon it will be accepted...
You can create a link to a particular message in a thread. Just click on More under the message, right-click on the Link link and choose Copy Link Location from the list. Then you can paste it into another message, like so:
A more direct action on picking the numbered post in a thread is to tap-n-hold the number next to the name in the colored horizontal separator with timestamp, copy link, paste.
3> Oh, you're using an iPad or other mobile browser. On a computer, it's right-click rather than tap-and-hold - the rest is the same, though.
4# The translation of the right-click is a two-finger single tap on the magic pad,
LT threads get waylaid all the time. They meander, they wander, they drift. I've never seen one veer quite so much from the very first post though!
Anyway, to further deflect the horseshoe bend into a complete billabong; if you want to link to a particular post on a Talk thread, please consider the Thingamabrarians who are not using the same language site as you.
You can use 'abbreviated' links such as Your link text.* This will direct them to the same post, but will leave them on the same language site with all of the translated variables still in their chosen language.
*And if you think that was easy to format, it wasn't. It was as recursively weird as Oscar pushing Igli entirely into his own mouth!
Oh Dear Group/thread,
Is it OK if I give this one up as a lost cause?
Win a few...
Hey Jim, I once started a thread, which was just a bit of fun, which lasted over 300 posts.
I'm guessing NOT this one :-)
ETA. I HAD read "Glory Road" way back then. Not sure if I want to re-read it now.
PS. #7. Was that meant to be a link?
Certainly not best rejoinder ever, but in the spirit of things I posted : http://www.librarything.com/topic/140871#3538757
Guido, I am humbled by this. This may be (no, definitely is) my most famous moment. k4k
