I was looking out into my backyard this morning, thinking of the bounty of spring flowers. Alas they've all been burned away except for the occasional red or yellow bloom. I'm thinking of a word to rhyme with flower.

I'd make a guess, but I'm cringing!

No, no, Rodney. No need to cower in the shade of Jim's tower. It's not a difficult word at all.

Not: cower, tower

Old murder ballad: "Lamkin"*

"O Lamkin, O Lamkin,
spare mʻ life this day;
Iʻll give yʻas much gold as
Your horse can carry away!

O Lamkin, O Lamkin
Spare mʻ life this hour;
Iʻll give ya my daughter Bessie
With all of her __ __ __ __!"

* also known under the titles
"Bolakins" and Lord Wearys Castle

I don't know the poem, Roland, but Crambo seems to fit. You win Crambo, and the lady's dower.
