I hadn't looked at this group for a while, and I realized that there are a lot more members than there used to be! So welcome, everyone! Come introduce yourselves :) Hello, I joined in March and have entered all of my books. ( I think- once in a while I find one that wasn't entered tucked away in a corner ) I guess my house functions as a whole house library. My main interests are Canadian fiction, art history, travel writing and historical fiction. I have found some wonderful books as a result of joining LT. Unfortunately or fortunately this results in a very large TBR pile! Jul 15, 2007, 12:54am (top)Message 3: see_a_knightHi Everyone, I'm fairly new here and still learning the ropes. Nice to have a Canadian group to join with. I look forward to seeing all the books for suggested reading. Happy reading and reviewing! Message edited by its author, Jul 15, 2007, 12:54am. Hi everyone, I live on the North Shore of Vancouver. I have been entering my books on LT for about 2 months and made some great contacts. I just love this site. I have a broad taste in books - will try just about anything. Have a fondness for UK literature, but also admire the wonderful Canadian writers we have. I think writing is one of the most successful art forms of Canada - I put it down to the weather. (When I lived in New Zealand, I thought the visual art was stunning - again put down to the weather there). I am a fairly busy mother of two teens, working full-time, and basically grabbing a book whenever I can - it varies wildly. Hope to learn of new and interesting authors and meet some Canuck readers in the process. Cheers, Karen. Aug 6, 2007, 12:47am (top)Message 5: fallentreehi, I'm from Edmonton. I joined LT this summer, and haven't really done much on here. then again, I try not to be computer-bound during the summer. I'm a graduate student studying trees in the boreal forest, and in my spare time, if I'm not knitting, I'm usually reading. I really like Can-Lit, but other writers manage to sneak in too, of course. This summer's been a hodge-podge of heavier books and young adult fiction because sometimes all you want is a light read! And now that I'm trying to get into one all my friends have said was "the greatest book ever" I find that I don't have long spaces of uninterrupted time. So perhaps Harry Potter will win out yet again!. Aug 8, 2007, 9:01pm (top)Message 6: Chrisbookarama First MessageHi all! I'm a bookworm in NS. I've been trying to read more Canadian authors, instead of just the Classics (mostly British) that I usually read. I also blog at http://chris-book-a-rama.blogspot.com/ Looking forward to being a member of this group. This topic was marked dormant, but I'm new here and wanted to say Hi. I'm from the South Shore in Nova Scotia and have just found this site. I'm in heaven! I hope to meet others, especially those that may be near me. Elizabeth I've been on Library Thing now for a few years and didn't know this thread was here. Hi everyone and welcome. It's great having a Canadian site. I'm a retired gov't employee living on PEI who loves reading and Library Thing - I've found so many good books here. Previously I had been in a rut just reading mysteries and had run out of authors. Although I still like them and have discovered so many more authors, my reading has also expanded in so many other directions. I've discovered CanLit, Canada Reads on CBC, epistolary novels, and rereading the classics. I hope you all enjoy Library Thing as much as I do. I didn't look at the date when I started reading this thread, so when I saw Kiwidoc's post where she said she'd been here two months I thought it was a typo. Anyway, I'm Joyce and I live in the Vancouver area. The first forty years of my life I read almost no Canadian literature, so the last few years I've been trying to catch up.
