Their is a minor(?) spoiler for Harry Potter book 7 in this post.
Just finished the 7th Harry Potter. We see how Harry has to die in order to be able to live. Do you think we will see something similar for Rand? Will he go to the place where souls go and return from their? In his case would that place be TAR, as he is a hero tied to the Horn of Valere?
These are my 2 favourite series, and honestly i think i might be a little disappointed if they both had similar ends in mind for the hero.
Im curious to know what everyone thinks.
yeah, i know that it's a little late for answering this but i was away from a computer all summer and i'm just getting back. i think that you're right, Rand will probably end up like that, but i was hoping for something more creative like mistaken identity or something. i heard that RJ left behind his notes, but not how far he got in writing the last one or if anyone was going to finish it for him. has anyone heard if we'll ever find out how this does end?
I have a feeling the "to live you must die " will be Lews Therin taking the hit, leaving Rand alone in his head.
I'm with readafew, I'v always thought that "to live you must die" meant for Rand to Live, Lews Therin must die...
This is from dragonmount.com (RJ's official website):
Robert Jordan left a partial manuscript for A Memory of Light and audiotapes and notes for the rest of the book. We believe that his wife and editor, Harriet, and his publisher, Tom Doherty, have every intention of seeing the book completed and published but there are no more details available at this time.
