Yes I am a amateur astronomer. After all isn't anyone who looks up at the night sky and amateur astronomer?
Most seeential astronomy book is either How to Identify the Night Sky or Bright Star Atlas. My most used piece of observing equipment is right eye. (My left eye has a wicked astigmatism.)
